Andrew Bailey Cellist     

Andrew Bailey, an American cellist based in Tallahassee, performs solo, chamber and orchestra works throughout Florida, New York and New England. A top prizewinner of regional and international competitions and winner of numerous scholarships for summer study.    Solo recital debut at age 10, Venice, soloist with orchestra debut at age 12,  Carnegie Hall's Weill Recital Hall soloist debut at age 13, as first place winner of American Protege International Piano and Strings Competition, New York City. First place winner of BBCO Young Artist Concerto Competition, first place winner of Venice Musicale Young Artist Scholarship Competition and runner up of the AMICCO Young Artist Concerto Competition, Andrew became featured soloist with AMICCO, BBCO, VCO orchestras and Venice Concert Band, Venice Performing Arts Center to a sold out audience and standing ovation. Andrew will be featured soloist with Tallahassee Youth Orchestra at Florida State University's, Ruby Diamond Concert hall as first place winner of the Tallahassee Youth Orchestras' 2019 Concerto competition.   

       Andrew began formal cello lessons at the age of seven in Sarasota county and Tallahassee, FL.  His teachers include Marnie Kim Jones,  Ann Alton and DaVid Pineda-Huezo. 

       Andrew has performed over seventy-five concerts, specializing in solo, chamber and orchestra works. He performed with the SuperStrings orchestra in Sarasota, Florida with Itzhak Perlman, maestro.  Scholarship recipient emerging artist chamber musician, Andrew attended and performed at Green Mountain Summer Music Festival, University of Vermont. 

        Andrew travels back and forth from Tallahassee to the Sarasota-Venice area for solo engagements, Venice Musicale Scholarship Benefit Concert, Venice, St. Peter's Anglican Cathedral in Tallahassee and Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Venice to name a few. He was commissioned to perform at a prominent wedding in two locations in the Tallahassee area.

       Being a principal or assistant principal cellist of the Tallahassee Youth Orchestra Symphony for the past three years, as well as recitals and  Florida State University String Orchestra Camp have enabled Andrew to perform at all concert halls at Florida State University.

     As an honors' sophomore student of Indiana University High School and a member of MENSA, Andrew enjoys the flexibility and variety of his college prep curriculum.
