Andrew Bailey Cellist     

Andrew Bailey,  American cellist , solo, chamber and orchestra musician throughout the United States.  Currently a Bachelor of Music Cello Performance major, Premier Young Artist and faculty scholarship recipient -Jacobs School of Music, Indiana University-Bloomington, Indiana, student of  Professor Brandon Vamos , professor and cellist of  the internationally acclaimed, two-time Grammy Award winning, "Pacifica Quartet."

    Notable solo performance venues include; Carneige Hall's Weill Recital Hall, New York City, NY, Recital Hall of Merrill Hall, Jacobs School of Music-Indiana University, Ruby Diamond Concert Hall-Florida State University, TCC Turner Auditorium, Tallahassee, FL,  Venice Performing Arts Center, Venice, FL, and numerous places of worship-including St. Peters Anglican Cathedral, Tallahassee, FL, Unitarian Universalist Congration of Venice,  Kirkwood Presbyterian Church, Bradenton, FL, Northminister Presbyterian Church, Sarasota, as soloist with orchestras, concert series and benefit engagements.

       Orcheestra performance venues include; Musical Arts Center-Jacobs School of Music-Indiana University-Bloomington, Perlman Winter Residency, Itzhak Perlman,superstrings orchestra-University of South Florida- Sarasota/Bradenton, ptincipal cellist of Tallahassee Youth Orchestra, cellist of Florida State Symphony Orchestra seminar concert, Florida State University, Tallahassee, FL.

        Chamber music performance venues include; Recital Hall-Jacobs School of Msuic-Indiana University Summer String Academy, University of Vermont-Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival, Florida State Capital,Talahassee, FL, Opperman Hall-Florida State University and Michael's On East and numberous churches with Sarasota Music Conservatory, Sarasota, Florida.

      Compeittion top prize recipiant include: Americna Protege Piano and Strings International Competition (first place), Tallahassee Youth Orchestra at Florida State University (first place), Big Bend Community Orchestra (first place), Venice Musicale Scholarship competition (first place) and Anna Maria Island Orchestra (second place), awarded scholarships and soloist engagements for several orchestras.

       Mr. Bailey began his formal cello studies in Sarasota at age seven and completed high school cello studies at Jacobs School of Music IU String Academy in Bloomington, Indiana.  His debut solo recital was at age nine, Venice Arts Center debut soloist with orchestra at age twelve with Anna Maria Island Orchestra in two engagements in Southwest Florida.   

     Mr. Bailey's current professor at Jacobs School of Music is  Brandon Vamos.  His high school professor was Susan Moses of Jacobs School of Music-IU String Academy. instructors from Florida and New York include  Dr. Ann Alton-Juilliard artist and former professor in the NYC area. and Marnie Kim Jones assistant principal of Tallahassee Symphony Orchstra.    Masterclass coaches incllude; Brandon Vamos, Itzhak Perlman, Richard Aaron, Susan Moses, Amir Eldan, Felix Wang, Kevin Lawrence and Sean O'Neil.
